A Great Event for a Great Cause
The Hanalei Bay Music Festival will "take off" on September 25, 2010 at Wai'oli Park in the heart of Hanalei Town.
This inaugural event will feature many of Kauai's talented musicians and songwriters. All of whom are connected to surfing and other ocean related activities here on the Garden Island.
The purpose of the not-for-profit event is to raise much-needed funds for the Kauai Ocean Safety Program. The foundation of the program is the severely challenged Kauai Lifeguard Association (KLA) who supports numerous other water safety and protection programs such as: W.A.V.E. (Water Awareness Visitor Education) Junior Lifeguard Training, Rescue Tubes and Placards, Beach Guardians, and Ocean Safety Bookmarks and Brochures.
Soul Surfer Music, with the support of the Kauai Lifeguard Association, is organizing the event. Tickets for the one-day festival will be available at retail stores throughout Kauai and on our Web site.
This will be a first class music event that will not only raise funds for Kauai ocean safety and protection, but also bring in much needed revenue to our ailing local economy.
We believe the HBMF will serve as an economic stimulus for the KLA and its mission of reducing Kauai's ocean related accidents, which have been increasing steadily over the last several years. Together we can make a difference. One life is too many!
